I’m selfpublishing a book. How can I tell who the Audience is?
I have to choose about 15 of my celebrity photographic portraits to use in the promotion of my book. this is the difficult part, Should i appeal to photographers and choose my all time best work as an artist, or assume that it will be the general public who will be the buyers, and pick the celeb samples by who is popular now? I wish i could figure out who the book’s ‘audience’ will be?
A very good question.
Try going to any of the major book stores and see what section of the store they would put the book in?
Can you do some sort of a book signing, and see what kind of people you draw in?
Talk to an English Professor and see how they would rate the book.
Send copies to some of the major newspapers, and let them read it and see how they would rate it.
Talk to an agent?
Best of luck, stick with it.
