this is a great book by a new english author. 180 Days (ISBN 1 4208 8153 1). .I really enjoyed it.

It's about a man who has the winning ticket on the lottery worth £9.7m - he is mugged and his wallet containing the ticket is stolen but the ticket is not found. Because of the mugging he ends up in hospital, nobody knows he has/had the winning ticket. The book traces the efforts to retrieve the ticket. A Dutch drug runner, a pro footballer, the man's two sons are all involved plus an odious publicist named Chafford Maxwell. Get it from Amazon.com

'Chafford Maxwell' Thats brilliant! A cross between Robert Maxwell and Max Clifford - God forbid!! both as equally irksome as one an other, 'Chafford' must be a right sleazy git!?

Thanks for the recommendation, I always have a look in the book section of 'Answers' for a good, gritty read. I'm just going to hot-foot it down to WH Smiths. The story sounds intriguing and full of twists and turns, numerous possible conclusions to the mystery, numerous characters plotting against one an other too, I guess?
I'll let you know what I thought of the book at a later date.
