The …
@Yamikaiba123
The more books printed the cheaper it is for each book (and the less one can charge). Also, there? is print on demand which is really where the future is heading.

@conferencereport
This channel I use primarily for commenting/discussing/debating…but yes…I will probably make a vid pointing? to my other social media (search ‘trick slattery) and amazon once my first book finally gets out to the world.
Also, I agree with what you said to Professor Anton about “some publishing models can occupy the middle ground between these poles”. Another great thing about Indy Publishing is the quick ability to put out updated editions.
@conferencereport I …
@conferencereport I can be very confusing to just dive in, as a lot of the videos detail connections between different text sources. But there’s a playlist on the? Revelation series that is a good start. I’m looking forward to the book just so that I can make sense out of what I’ve heard so far!
@conferencereport …
@conferencereport well, if i expected it to look pro, i wouldnt be askin..
ive love DIY / childrens scrap book style tats. .. it’d give me an extra? reason to come n pick that haul o games up sometime too lol
@SkidRowRadio I …
@SkidRowRadio I think that probably constitutes assault and I’ve also had zero training in tattooing (as you’ll have seen from the Dead Bunny Tattoo video). Still, if that’s what you want….?
@conferencereport …
@conferencereport yeayeayea. integrity, purity, potential society saving model of commerce… yadayadayada..? would you tattoo me? we could make a video out of it where we’re chattin at the same time.. some sort of commentary on subjective suffering perhaps… XD
@DaithiDublin I …
@DaithiDublin I wish I’d come across his channel earlier. I’ll go back and look at some of his earlier videos.?
@Yamikaiba123 It …
@Yamikaiba123 It would certainly be easiest for ebooks, although a fair percentage of regular printed books goes in royalties or publisher’s? markup. A profit ceiling would mean that these additional costs would not be added after that ceiling had been reached.
@xxxild I’m sure …
@xxxild I’m sure there would be technical difficulties in making it work, but I really like the idea of setting a? ceiling on the amount of possible returns. I takes away all the pressure to be popular.
@gedgetips There …
@gedgetips There are a couple of publishers working with that model now. It makes? a lot of sense.
@SkidRowRadio I …
@SkidRowRadio I also like it because there’s less temptation to compromise what you want to write in a bid for financially-rewarding popularity. A bit like Youtube really.?
@TheMessianicManic? …
@TheMessianicManic? I don’t have the graphic skills for that, sadly.
@trick0171? Thanks …
@trick0171? Thanks Trick, and for sharing what you’re up to. Are you planning on giving updates on your progress?
I’ve been following …
I’ve been following Xoroaster for a few months now, and it’s been really interesting seeing the process of writing? develop. He produces regular videos outlining where his research is going, all jam packed with information. And a lot of it has also been shaped by the interaction with his viewers, which has sent him on some related tangents. I believe he has a publisher and it’s close to being released. Following the process has been a unique experience, and I’m excited now about getting a copy.
Wouldn’t that only …
Wouldn’t that only be possible for digital books? The? more people buying your book means that you’ll have to print more of them, raising costs.
It’s a great idea? …
It’s a great idea? you have on the book selling!
One way I have …
One way I have applied a somewhat similar concept in publishing is to propose? to write a technical book to the readers of a journal, asking for feedback and interest in a pre-purchase option. Then, when I found there was enough interest to justify the work, I established a price that would make it worthwhile & most purchased prior to my starting the project, so they received a good discount. However, I didn’t limit sales or profits to any fixed number, but then it was very small at 700+ sales.
thats a great idea …
thats a great idea about how to sell it.. very anti capitalist.. lovely.
make it just? as much as it needs to be for everything to run smooth and such.
Are you writing …
Are you writing Anti-Natalist Man?!?! 8D?
if you were selling …
if you were selling homemade tattooing, id definitely do it. are you looking for willing canvases??
IMO - It really is …
IMO - It really is an exciting time for authors and I cannot wait to get my first book out. Others in the works will be on? ethics, as well as antinatalism.
Keep going with your writing.

As an indie author, …
As an indie author, it is still important to hire an editor and make your book the best possible, but the benefits are expanding. You also have to do all of your own marketing, build a platform, etc etc…which is about 50% of the work? (hardly no author with a few exceptions only write anymore), but even traditional route now-a-days you have to do most of your own marketing.

I’m writing two …
I’m writing two books currently. A philosophy book on the? lack of free will (about 60,000 words in) and a scifi book (about 40,000 words in on 1st draft) Hard to write during hour break each day…taking forever. That being said, I have been researching all aspects of publishing and think that traditional publishing will diminished to only a few as more people buy e-readers, etc..and authors can hold all rights to their book.

@Professoranton I …
@Professoranton I know what you mean, and pretty much agree. I’m thinking though that some publishing models can occupy the middle ground between these poles. What? do you think?
I personally enjoy …
I personally enjoy the difference between the two contexts of expression, the loose and productive (interactive, sloppy, and? still developing) field of youtube and the already completed, (the dead and word-supervised to the point of being artificial) state of a published article or book. Youtube is a fun and exciting place because it resists finality and precision and retains a depth and reality, a living ambiguity, that no sealed and completed text can rival.
