Making money online is such a big topic that it has become an industry unto it’s self. A lot of people make money, off of people interested in making money with the web.

I have a problem with a lot of those people. They write their info books as if they are instruction manuals, and that all you have to do is follow the lines and you will make a million.

The reality is that making money online is possible, but it does take work.

This book is for those of you who understand that. For those who are looking for someone willing to shoot straight with you.

See, the online “Gurus” as they have come to be called, like to sell you a big BS story. It’s the Beer commercial method. Drinking beer will not land you a super model, buying their info book will not make you an overnight millionaire.

I am selling you my knowledge on online marketing. I am not making you any promises. I can only say that if you want a good chance of changing your life by starting an online business, you need a guide. I would like to be that guide.

1. Forward

2. Prepare thyself

3. Prepare thyself 2

4. Why me and not some online money guru?

(Sections 1-4 are about my reasons for writing the book, and what you can expect.)

5. Free vs Hosted

6. Site Solutions

(5 and 6 are about what you can use to do a site.)

7. Dealing with money online

8. Affiliate or your own products?

9. Coming up with a product

10. Topics (aka, what are you going to do the site about)

11. The 3 types of sites

12. Keyword Research

13. My Free Method

(using Squidoo to do free sites)

14. Getting Hosting

15. Getting ready for your first site

16. Domain Name

17. Installing WordPress

18. WordPress Plug-ins

19. Sources of content

20. Posts vs Pages

21. Making Money

(how to set sites up for making money)

22. Setting up an e-commerce site

23. Social sites

24. Backlinks

25. The Hats

26. Writing

27. Building Traffic through content writing

28. Demographics

29. Sales psychology

30. Planning

31. Misc

32. Exit

My reasons for writing this book are simple.

I would love to save you the troubles I have gone through. I would like to save you the trial and error and just tell you what works. And hey, making some extra money on the side for a few weeks worth of condensing several years of work into a guide book isn’t anything to pass over. What can I say, I’m honest to a fault and I want your money.

I also don’t like some of the practices used by the gurus in their marketing methods. Basically they have a whole team of people working for them to build sites, but they act like they do it all themselves when they sell their books.

It builds unrealistic expectations for what you think you should be able to accomplish. I hate that. They set people up to fail, and it disgusts me.

So I want you to buy this book and get the best chance you have. I want you to succeed. I want you to help me flip the gurus the bird and find the life you’ve always dreamed of.

I wrote this because I want to make people happy more than anything and so far this is what I have to contribute.

So thanks for taking the time to check my book out. Even if you don’t buy this book, don’t give up on your dreams. They are all we really have and to quote a great song.

“Show me a man without a dream and I’ll show you a man that’s dead… real dead.”

Here’s to your future.

5 Reasons Why Social Marketing is a Must

In a Web 2.0 world, social marketing leverages your business with audio, video, and text. As an example, blogging may very well turn out to be one of the most ingenuous marketing strategies for anyone who has an online business and is willing to commit to its process.

Web 2.0 seems such an unlikely stratagem that many online marketers are still wary of using as a marketing tactic, much to their disadvantage. Statistics show that marketers who have embraced and adopted social marketing have experienced unprecedented success. Here are three reasons why social marketing is important for your online business.

#1 Social marketing gets you the information you need

Social marketing is a popular and effective way of getting vital information that is essential to the success of your business. Social networking directories such as Netscape and Digg are increasingly gaining favor as an option for people across the globe to keep in touch with the latest happenings in their area of interest. Want to measure your content’s effectiveness? Try posting it to a Netscape or Digg like service. Blogging and submitting to pertinent social directories is an effective way of attracting and retaining important traffic.
